Medellin has become a top international city for cuisine. Both for its quality and variety. Here are some of my tops picks to enjoy the culinary experiences Medellin has to offer.
Bonhomie
Relaxing outdoor venue with great service. Know for its pork and oven fire pizza although it has an extensive menu. Live music on the weekend and good for larger groups. (Cra. 37 #8-53)
Mondongo's
Maybe Medellin most famous restaurant. This is a traditional Colombian food in a casual setting. Huge portions so bring an appetite. This is where to go to try your Bandeja Paisa or, of course Soup Mondongo. Inexpensive. (Cl.10 #38-38)
Park 37
Great brunch place in a nice open air setting. Quiet Garden and patio on the side. Excellent at night for cocktails and late night bites. (Cra. 37 #8A-4)
Alambique
Excellent food in a beautiful setting, live Jazz music Tuesday and Saturday nights. While the door from the outside and 1st floor look ugly and a little dangerous, once you go upstairs it is very nice. (Calle 10 #43a-30)
Lucia Restaurant at the Charlee Hotel
Top class international dining in classy open air restaurant in the heart of Poblado (in front of Park LLeras). Traditional Colombian music on Thursdays. (Cl. 9a #37-16)
Mar & Fuego
Excellent seafood restaurant with lovely garden and great service. (Cra.37 #10b-4)
Restaurant Ube
New great steak restaurant in the heart of the nightlife section. Lively with Reggeton upstairs (Cra.38#8-08)
Carmen
Top class Colombian cuisine and a beautiful, cozy and chic atmosphere. Known for its ceviche, grilled octopus and pork cooked two ways. Has a wonderful 7 course tasting option which can be paired with wine. This is one of Medellin’s most popular restaurant so you may need reservations. (Cra. 36 ##10a-27)
Conclusion
