About Me
Travel has been one of the most rewarding parts of my life so I am going back to favorite places and writing them up to guide you to a great experience.
Explore someplace you’ve never been before and find a hidden gem. This site is different than most travel blogs as I did not take off years to travel. I worked full time and used my vacations to explore three new countries a year. So this is not how to be a backpacker for months and live off $25 a day. This is for people who have a vacation or two a year of a week or two and want to go to anew country and experience the best it has to offer in that time. I will mention good values and cost effective activities but this is for people who are looking for the experience not wasting valuable vacation days trying to pinch the pennies. So this will be how to get in and out of the country and the best experiences, restaurants, museums and activities you can do in a week.
I have a lot of experience evaluating the travel resources and apps and will let you know the best ones for information, value and ease of use. Let me guide you to the information that helps you enjoy your stay abroad. As a newly incorporated blog, you’re invited to grow with us. We feature regularly fresh content for you to enjoy each time you visit our blog. In fact, we welcome your ideas and encourage our readers to share their stories about where they travel.
I have been fortunate enough to work and study in a number of countries and used these places as bases with vacations and long weekends to explore over 85 countries which is why I think this will be useful for people who are balancing travel with other parts of their lives to let them know how to get in and out of countries and maximize their time and experiences.
Junior Year of College- Study Abroad University College Galway Ireland.
-As colleges abroad are generally much less expensive than US colleges, my college actually had to refund a large part of my tuition for the semester when I studied in Ireland. When the semester ended I took the ferry to France and backpacked across Europe for a month staying in hostels and sleeping on trains before heading back to the US.
Between College and Law School I took 1 year and taught English in Japan on the Japanese Exchange and Teaching Program (JET). This was an amazing experience as it is not just travel, you become part of the community and live as a local for a year.
After my 1st year of law school, I found a summer program in Tokyo studying law and doing an internship with a Japanese law firm for 2 months.
2nd year of Law school, I was able to do another study abroad as my law school (Boston University) had an exchange program with Oxford University. After the term ended, I pulled out the backpack again and travel through Europe again for a month.
3 year of Law School- after finding an ABA accredit US law program in Tokyo (by Temple University in Pennsylvania), I convinced my law school to allow me to do my last semester there and transfer the credits.
I went back to NY passed the bar and threw out my resumes. Surprisingly the law firms that called wanted to know if I could really speak Japanese (and by this point I could). They said they need people to work for their branch in Tokyo. So 6 months after graduating law school I was back on a plane to live I Tokyo.
I ended up living in Tokyo for 10 years and working as a lawyer for a big US law firm and then for the financial news company Bloomberg LP (including one year where they sent me to London to work on a project). I used this as my base to explore Asia.
I then transfer back to New York with Bloomberg and lived in Queens, New York City for 12 years and used this as my base to explore South America.
Due to a Covid I became a remote work so now I am using that to become a Digital Nomad. I sold my place in New York and moved to Medellin, Colombia which I will use as my base to revisit my favorite places and explore more of the world.
